To Be Alive!
Tiffany Bozic has long been one of my favorite contemporary painters. In the spirit of Audubon, and along with Walton Ford and to a certain extent Andrew Brandou (see his “After Audubon” series), Bozic takes her passion for nature and animals and translates it into amazing works of art. I still haven’t had the pleasure of seeing her art in-person, but this beautiful video further illustrates what I had already assumed from looking at her work: she LOVES nature and its various lifeforms.
It appears that the work from the residency filmed in this video, an exhibition titled From the Depths, is going on display this week. Here is some more information, and the opening is tomorrow. Wish I could be there!

Andrew Brandou especially made me excited. His is the kind of artwork that makes one need to change underwear frequently. Bozic’s work, too, as well as Ford’s, are amazing. I think their craft is so present in their work–from their severe observation to their control of the media. On top of that, they have an artistic vision driving their decisions and making them consistent and honest. Really good people, David!
