Words and Pictures
If this is your first visit to the site, you probably can’t tell, but this site looks really different from how it looked yesterday. I have been sneaking a few minutes here and there for the past few months to put together a new site design and a portfolio database.
So far I have collected examples of my work from the past four years or so. I haven’t scanned some of the quickie little comics that I like to do, but that’s only because I haven’t gotten to it yet. I’ll dig up some of my work from college work, too, and hopfully I can represent the massive amount of time I spent pulling prints off of limestone and zinc, and the time spent stitching books together. I also haven’t pulled together screenshots from the many and varied websites I’ve had a hand in building. That’s also forthcoming, but maybe on a longer timescale.
Now for some technical jargon: the site is xHTML/CSS layout with a PHP/MySQL backend. I’m still running WordPress for the weblog, and over time, I will work on making it more of a general-pupose CMS for the rest of the site. I am also taking advantage of the Apache mod_rewrite module to pretty-up the URLs for the site.
If you are still reading, thanks for coming by. I have been in a really productive spirit lately, so expect to see more work and more updates on the site in the near future, and come back often.
Oh, and some of the work here is avalable for purchase. I haven’t figured out how I want to handle that yet, but until the technology catches up, if you like something and want to buy it, make me an offer. I am also up for commissions, if the spirit moves you.
And away we go.

Yo Bro–
Nice rewrite. I like it lots. I’ve been sidetracked from my own project by a wedding and a new project for Michelle Kaufmann. A little hourly gig to get a simple website done for her. I may have to use some of you’re clear expertise to get her functinoal on all platforms… stupid Microsoft Internet Explorer. I like the portfolio, too. I can’t say I totally understand your categories, but that may be just me. Like what is “traditional”? = “by hand”? You ain’t working any tradition I can see… but your own. Love ya.

Good point– I changed the wording to say “Traditional Media” and “Digital Media” so it is more obvious. When you are in the sections, there is a little blurb that explains that, but more obvious = more gooder.

Yea! Yea! It’s up and running! All looks great - I hadn’t realized how many pieces have accumulated. And the older stuff isn’t even up yet!
Good work.

The new design is great! Everything just feels a little more pulled together now.
I might miss the frogs, though. Is there somewhere I can go to visit from time to time?

Of course, Matt. The frogs are still here.
