Film Fest Four
The film fest was great, yet again. I won’t go into it too much, but the highlights for me were Since Otar Left, The Story of the Weeping Camel, and Sumo: East and West. The first two were just great stories, told very well. The third was an interesting story as well, but the clincher for me was that Manny Yarborough was ther in person. At 6′ 8″ and over 700 lbs., he made the projected film look as if it were only life-sized. Dude’s as big as a house!
This is the fourth Wisconsin Film Festival I have attended, which also means it is the fourth year I worked on the website for it. Fortunately, we have a new member of the Active Media team at work who is doing a really great job. That and the fact that I was busting my ass on the new Jimmy John’s site meant that I didn’t have to do nearly as much on the WFF site this year as I have had to do in the past. I think that made the festival-going experience all the better, since I wasn’t so burnt out on the whole thing.
